The Madison Blaze Have Arrived
Announcing Madison’s New Women’s Professional Tackle Football Team Madison, WI: The Madison Blaze is a full-contact women’s professional tackle football team. They will play their 2013 inaugural season in April with the Independent Women’s Football League (IWFL).
The Madison Blaze is owned by an all-women ownership group consisting of current and former IWFL players. The team begins operations with a core of veteran players, staff and coaches that plan to build upon the experience and success of past seasons.
The mission of the Madison Blaze is to promote and advance women’s football in a professional manner while sustaining a positive identity in the community through leadership, guidance, and sound management.
“We are very excited to take women’s professional football in Madison to the next level.” says team co-owner and 7 year veteran Tiffany Loomis. “These women come from all over the state just to play for the Blaze.” “They come with an incredible passion to play and learn the game of football. Our goal is not only to continue to be a top notch competitor in the IWFL, but to also be positive role models for young women and girls interested in any type of sport. It is important for us to find creative ways to give back to the local community and have fun,” states Loomis.
